Wednesday, September 13
The excursions are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. There are three choices of excursion and the selection of one of these should be made during on-line registration. Please note that the start time of the excursions depends upon the selection.
17:00 - 20:00 (5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.)
The popular Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the oldest salt mines in Europe. Alongside the mine's historical importance, its carvings of fabulous figures, monuments and altarpieces have earned the Wieliczka Salt Mine a place on the original UNESCO list of the World Heritage Sites. Go for a hike 135 meters underground! More information can be found in here.
NOTE: Bus transportation combined with walking. Comfortable footwear is advised. A guide will be available all the time. This trip is wheelchair accessible. Please let us know if you need assistance. Participants will not return to their hotels before the Conference Dinner which takes place in the banquet chamber of the Wieliczka Salt Mine.
14:00 - 16:45 (2:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.)
Busses to the Conference Banquet: 17:50 (5:50 p.m.)
For over a thousand years, Kraków has been the center of science, culture and art in Poland and this tour explores the historic heart of the city. The tour starts from the Main Market, a large medieval town square, dating to the 13th century, surrounded by palaces & churches. Here you will find the Cloth Hall (the world's oldest shopping mall at 700 years), the 13th century Gothic Town Hall Tower, the magnificent 14th century Gothic Basilica of the Virgin Mary, and the small church of St. Adalbert, some of which dates back to the 11th century. You will visit the twin-spired St. Mary's Church with its famous medieval altar and where, every hour the brave trumpeter of Kraków still calls out his warning. Next, Wawel Hill, crowned by Wawel Castle and Wawel Cathedral and the seat of royal power up until the 17th century. Finally, you will return to the Conference Center through Planty Park, which encircles the Old Town, where the medieval city walls used to stand until the early 19th century. 13:20 - 17:30 (1:20 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
Busses to the Conference Banquet: 18:20 (6:20 p.m.)
Stroll through the Ojców National Park. It is a land full of caves, castles and unusual limestone cliffs, ravines and rock formations. The most interesting places will surely have to include: Renaissance Castle in Pieskowa Skała, the largest in the park King's Łokietek Cave, Dark Cave with prehistoric inhabitants, the ruins of a medieval King's Casimir castle in Ojców, an unusual rock called "Hercules' Club" and the Cracow Gate. NOTE: Bus transportation combined with walking. The initial descent towards Park main attractions, lasting approximately 40 minutes is picturesque, but with some sections that may be challenging. Comfortable, slip-resistant footwear is advised. The remaining part of the walk is through a flat area. A guide will be available all the time. This trip is not wheelchair accessible.
Wednesday, September 13

The conference Banquet will be held in outstanding and unique banquet chamber of the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The chamber is located 130 m below the ground.
NOTE: Bus transport for the Conference Banquet will leave from the Conference Center at 17:50 (5:50 p.m.) and 18:20 (6:20 p.m.). These buses are for participants of "The Old Kraków" and "The Ojców National Park" excursions, respectively. Participants not taking part in any of these trips are welcome to board any of these busses.
